1/14, CERE NETWORK participated in Polkadot Ecology AMA EP.3 which is held by CryptoGeek. We invited CERE’s CEO Fred and CMO Martijn to share their view about the topic, “Decentralization Data Cloud Platform on Polkadot”

Martijn:The past year, Cere has been working hard with its 35 person team on building the Decentralized Data and Finance cloud, pivoting its project narrative from ‘the decentralized CRM’ to ‘the decentralized Snowflake’.

Cere’s Decentralized Data Cloud allows big brands and enterprises to start establishing their own data ecosystems and first-party data strategies. Cere’s vision is to lead blockchain adoption for enterprises by using their own, unleashed customer data.

For our solution, we’re leveraging on the Polkadot technology and ecosystem to achieve the so desired data-interoperability and scalability which is necessary to handle the magnitude of the operations we’re building for our enterprise clients.

Q1: Could you describe to audiences what milestone Cere will achieve in 2021?

Martijn: We are focusing on 1) working closely with W3F (polkadot) grants team, Substrate builders program to prepare and test our alpha mainnet, which works with our decentralized data cloud that’s already serving real enterprises and consumers; 2) token and network launch operations; 3) launch our alpha mainnet with consumer data and business utility already availanble through integrations; 4) launching the Cere Open Data Marketplace later this year

Q2: Cere is a DDC platform for Enterprises. Could you introduce to audiences how many business partners have already cooperate with?

Martijn: Cere currently has multiple pilots going with several (Fortune-1000) companies. I can give some sneak peaks on the different industries we’re servicing:

Travel sector:

Cere is working with a large scale travel booking company with an urgent need to do much more personalized and smart travel offers and incentivization to drive more booking. Cere provides a complete, drop-in solution that extends the existing app experiences with minimum integrations to provide these new smart rewarding experiences.

Retail sector:

Cere is working with a US-based network of travel centers with over 300 locations to power a new set of user experiences via its drop-in SDK and services to facilitate the following utilities:

Powering location-based checkin’s, predictive analytics to notify and engage users with personalized offers based on user travel and location patterns, powering the pre-booking of fuel and services with smart discounts and bundles before the user gets to the location, closing the online to on-location gap, automating the rewards and pre-booking redemptions

Media/TV sector:

Together with a big media network in the US, Cere is using it’s technology to supercharge user engagement. The core OTT is uniquely differentiated to provide the users of the partner’s app a more personalized and rewarding experience.

Its important to notice that eventually, every customer focussed enterprise will be requiring a solution like Cere, which guarantees user privacy and regulatory compliance. Customer data stored on Cere Chain is fully encrypted and partitioned per enterprise entity with a state of the art identity management system. Application data is associated with anonymous, randomized ID’s, not identifiable personal information. Only users and entities with the associated private keys can decrypt and deanonymize their own data.

Q3: How could audience from our community or normal investor participate in Cere Network?

Martijn: We just closed our private sale, we’ll release more information on our social channels in the coming weeks about the public sale!

Q4: Is the sale time of cere network public offering in February?

Martijn: We can’t disclose the exact date of the public sale yet, we’ll annouce this via our social channels and on our new website www.cere.network!

Q5: Could you tell audience about Cere’s business model?

Martijn: Our current SaaS-integration partners, which also includes a part of the Cere team, deliver custom solutions for our enterprise clients that leverage the Cere Network blockchain infrastructure. To drive economic activity for Cere’s utility token, ~20% of all Cere SaaS fees will be used for network transactions, and another 20% will be allocated to the Cere Open Data Marketplace to stimulate activity between businesses and data engineers. This way, we facilitate supply and demand on the marketplaces, which will increase the value of the token!

Q6: Could you please introduce the background of the team?

Martijn: We have a fairly distributed team with offices all over the world. For the Cere management, this isn’t their first rodeo. Its a seasoned team of tech titans who have ran multiple Silicon Valley backed businesses. Furthermore, we have a highly experienced advisory board, who assist and advice the project in countless ways to achieve our goals.

Fred’s experience in social media (BeBo) and gaming (50cubes), is what differentiates us in this market.

Q7: Cere Network has big ambition and see snowflake as the competitor, so compared with that, What advantage and disadvantages do we have?

Martijn: Similar to Snowflake, we have tools to extract and virtualize these data with near real-time event-sourcing (transforming and extracting) into customized datasets for ML, or analytics, or partner integrations.

The key differences with Cere are 1) asymmetrical data encryption allows any computing process such an AI agent or partner integration script to be dynamically provided with signatures to access certain customer datasets, this means data can be securely shared into decentralized used cases such as the Cere Open Data Marketplace (similar to Snowflake’s data marketplace, but not locked to just 1 vendor); 2) The entire system is designed from the ground up to focus specifically for individual user data encryption, privacy-compliance, and hyper-personalization, which is what traditional data lakes, data warehouses, and CRM’s are not designed to do.

Q8: Will Cere join parachain auction?

Martijn: Yes! Thats what we’re currently raising money for. We want to extend Polkadot to global enterprises, and to do so we need to be a parachain!
